Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden, unexplained death of a child under one year of age. This syndrome corresponds to the leading cause of infant death in developed countries without finding a specific etiology established. The multiple risk factors that can cause it, such as smoking, drug use during pregnancy and the position of the baby when sleeping, among others, represent a continuous study of this problem. Today, thanks to numerous investigations and preventive campaigns, the incidence of SIDS can be reduced. In addition, the approach to grief constitutes a very important part in terms of accepting the loss of children who are victims of this syndrome.
