La traqueostomía es un procedimiento por el cual se crea una nueva vía aérea segura por medio de un estoma localizado en el cuello, que comunica la tráquea con el exterior. Puede tener numerosas indicaciones como el uso de la ventilación mecánica en el paciente, manejo de secreciones o traumatismo craneofacial. Existen diferentes tipos de cánulas y cada cánula tiene unas partes diferenciadas. Es importante para la adaptación del paciente traqueostomizado que se analicen las incidencias y se expongan las soluciones más comunes.
Tracheostomy is a procedure by which a new safe airway is created through a stoma located in the neck, which connects the trachea with the outside. It can have numerous indications such as the use of mechanical ventilation in the patient, management of secretions or craniofacial trauma. There are different types of cannulas and each cannula has different parts. It is important for the adaptation of the tracheostomized patient that the incidents are analyzed and the most common solutions are presented.
