    El catéter peritoneal es una herramienta fundamental en la diálisis peritoneal, utilizada en pacientes con insuficiencia renal. Los cuidados de enfermería en el manejo del catéter peritoneal son esenciales para prevenir infecciones y garantizar la efectividad del tratamiento. Es muy importante instruir al paciente y familiares u otro apoyo sobre el cuidado del catéter peritoneal, enfocándose en la prevención de infecciones y la detección temprana de las complicaciones más comunes.

    The peritoneal catheter is a fundamental tool in peritoneal dialysis used for patients with renal failure. Nursing care in the management of the peritoneal catheter is essential to prevent infections and ensure the effectiveness of the treatment. It is very important to instruct the patient and their family members or other caregivers on the care of the peritoneal catheter, focusing on infection prevention and early detection of the most common complications.
