Resumen La intrahistoria es la historia que pasa desapercibida y permanece en la sombra. Está presente en todas las investigaciones, ya sean cuantitativas o cualitativas, el asunto es si la reconocemos, qué atención la prestamos y qué hacemos con ella. Este artículo se centra en la intrahistoria de los estudios cualitativos identificando cuatro personajes que son fuente de relatos en la sombra: el encuentro de dos puntos de vista, las limitaciones, lo afortunado y el conocimiento tácito. Las investigaciones cualitativas se desarrollan de manera flexible, ajustándose a las contingencias, reparando los errores y aprovechando oportunidades, están constituidas por intrahistorias que se incorporan al diseño del estudio, principalmente a través del estudio exploratorio y el diario del método. Ni los relatos ni las personas permanecen en la sombra. La intrahistoria fortalece el método y deja un aprendizaje para el investigador y para otros.
Abstract The inside story is the story that goes unnoticed and remains in the shadow. It is present in all research studies, whether quantitative or qualitative. However, the issue is whether we recognize it, what attention we pay to it and what we do with it. This paper focuses on the inside story of qualitative research by identifying four characters that are a source of tales in the shadow: the meeting of two points of view, the limitations, the fortune, and the tacit knowledge. Qualitative research develops in a flexible way, adjusting to contingencies, repairing mistakes, and taking advantage of opportunities. Qualitative studies are made up of inside stories that are incorporated into the research design, mainly through the exploratory study and a method diary. Neither the stories nor the people remain in the shadow. The inside story strengthens the method and leaves learning lessons for researchers.
