Intensive Care is the clinical care system that is developed for the care of those patients in whom there is, or may exist, an imminent severe risk to their vital functions. It is important to keep in mind that an ICU patient is isolated and immobilized, has prolonged sleep deprivation, lack of communication and interpersonal relationships, which in a more or less space of time, and aggravated by the patient’s age, can develop the so-called ICU syndrome. This syndrome develops in two stages. The Guards assigned to the Intensive Care units will be prepared in the movement of the sick, given that, due to the characteristics of bedridden, and often unconscious, patients, their mobilization must be done with special training.
