La rectorragia consiste en la expulsión de sangre por el ano. Cuando la procedencia es de vía digestiva baja serán de color rojo y cuando la procedencia es de vía superior serán melénicas. Una de las principales causas de rectorragia es la diverticulitis aguda. La toma de constantes vitales y una rápida exploración son de importancia para valorar el estado del paciente. La vigilancia y control de deposiciones debe ser constante.
Rectal bleeding consists of the expulsion of blood through the anus. When the origin is from the lower digestive tract they will be red and when the origin is from the upper digestive tract they will be melenic. One of the main causes of rectal bleeding is acute diverticulitis. Taking vital signs and a quick exploration are important to assess the patient’s condition.
