A 75-year-old patient arrives at the hospital emergency room, transferred by the 061 ambulance service for presenting a causal fall in the kitchen of his home. The woman reports having presented a slight syncope, but of very short duration and a rapid recovery. She does not report a headache due to a possible head injury (TCE), but she does say that she has a lot of pain in the area of her left hip and therefore cannot get up off the ground. It is her husband who calls the emergency services.
At the hospital, she undergoes the necessary tests to rule out a possible TCE (which she does not present), but she did suffer a fracture at the level of her left hip. She underwent surgery and was transferred to the traumatology ward for follow-up and rehabilitation.
