El embarazo comporta un aumento de las necesidades energéticas y nutricionales de la mujer por la sobrecarga que impone a la función de los principales órganos y sistemas, además del constante depósito de elementos en el organismo fetal. Esto supone que la mujer embarazada deba replantearse su nutrición.
Los requerimientos varían en función de la edad gestacional. El aumento de peso medio normal es de 11,3-15,8 kg. En el caso de mujer con un IMC entre 25 y 29.9 kg/m3 la ganancia de peso recomendada será 7-12.5 kg. Y en el caso de mujeres con un IMC superior o igual a 30 kg/m3 al comienzo del embarazo, la ganancia de peso recomendada será entre 5 y 9 kg.
Mediante este trabajo monográfico se plantean una serie de actividades que podrían ser de ayuda y referencia para las matronas de atención primaria.
Pregnancy involves an increase in the energy and nutritional needs of women due to the overload that it imposes on the function of the main organs and systems, in addition to the constant deposit of elements in the fetal organism. This means that the pregnant woman must reassess her nutrition.
Requirements vary based on gestational age. The normal average weight gain is 11.3-15.8kg. In the case of women with a BMI between 25 and 29.9 kg / m3, the recommended weight gain will be 7-12.5 kg. Through this monographic work, some activities are proposed that could help and reference for community midwives.
